Leith Wheeler has managed institutional accounts since our inception in 1982. Our clients include pension, health & welfare plans, endowments, foundations, and Aboriginal clients.
We work with clients all across Canada, assigning two Portfolio Managers to each client to provide deep knowledge of the client and their needs.
Each account is managed individually on either a pooled or segregated basis, in accordance with each client's Investment Policy Statement and any specified account restrictions.
Gordon Gibbons joined Leith Wheeler in June 1994, with eight years of portfolio management experience at Canada Trust. He is a member of Leith Wheeler’s Management Committee, with responsibility for our pension business.
Gordon manages pension and institutional portfolios. He is a graduate of Simon Fraser University (B.A. Economics, 1985), past president of CFA Vancouver and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Gordon served on the Board of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and is a member of its Investment Committee.
Neil Watson joined Leith Wheeler in 1993 after nine years with a major investment dealer in Vancouver. Neil has responsibility for managing pension portfolios and is also the portfolio manager for the Leith Wheeler Diversified Pooled Fund and Balanced Fund.
Neil is a graduate of the University of Lancaster, England (BA Economics, Honours, 1974), a member of CFA Vancouver and has his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Perry Teperson joined Leith Wheeler in 2004 after thirteen years as an actuary and investment consultant. He began his career with a Life Insurance company as a Product Development Actuary. During his consulting career, he led the Vancouver investment practice of a multinational actuarial consulting firm providing advice on investment strategy, including the matching of bond assets with liabilities. At Leith Wheeler, he works with corporate accounts, pension plans, endowment funds and First Nations trusts. Perry also is a member of the Leith Wheeler Portfolio Review Committee which determines firmwide asset allocation guidelines.
Perry graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science degree awarded with distinction. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Daren joined Leith Wheeler in December 2001 from the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Daren graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelors Degree in Finance. He has responsibility for managing Institutional clients including First Nations, Pension, Corporate and Health & Welfare portfolios. Throughout his time at Leith Wheeler, he has been involved with Institutional clients in a variety of different functions including communicating investment strategy, education and working extensively on investment policy statements, monitoring and constraints.
Daren holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is on the Executive Committee of CFA Vancouver.
Marc Williams joined Leith Wheeler as an Institutional/Pension Portfolio Manager in October 2015. He brings over 20 years of experience in the pension and institutional investment industry. Marc’s experience encompasses previous roles as an Actuary and Investment Consultant at a large multi-national consulting organization followed by more recent experience with an alternative asset management firm. Marc’s previous clients have included corporate, government and union pension plans, as well as endowment funds and First Nations trust funds.
Marc is a Fellow of the Canadian and UK Institute of Actuaries.
Lisa Meger joined Leith Wheeler in December 2008 after graduating from Simon Fraser University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance. Lisa holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Ly Nguyen joined Leith Wheeler in March 2014. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degree, with concentrations in Finance and Marketing, from Simon Fraser University. Currently, she is a candidate in the CFA program.
Tricia Wu joined Leith Wheeler in October 2016, with over six years’ experience in treasury, pensions, corporate finance, and risk management. She earned her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University.
Tricia holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designations. She is a member of the CFA Society Vancouver and sits on the CFA Society Vancouver Board of Directors.
Chelsea joined Leith Wheeler in May 2016 and is responsible for overseeing the Institutional Portfolio Management administration team, as well as the coordination of various process improvement and infrastructure development initiatives. She has worked in the investment management industry for nearly four years and previously held marketing and investor relations positions at Norrep Capital Management and Canoe Financial. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Chelsea spent a year abroad and was based in Dubai. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from the University of Calgary.
Jessica joined Leith Wheeler in August 2016. She has over 9 years of previous experience in the banking industry; 3 years at a BC Credit Union and 6 years at HSBC.
