The business management of our firm is conducted by a team of accomplished professionals who oversee its strategy operations, financial management, and compliance requirements.
Cecilia Wong joined Leith Wheeler in 1995 after seven years at Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants as an audit manager in their Audit and Assurance practice. She is responsible for the financial, compliance and operations of Leith Wheeler.
Cecilia is a graduate of UBC (B.Comm 1989) and has been in the industry since 1995. She holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia and CFA Vancouver.
Brad Weldon joined Leith Wheeler in October 2005 as a Consultant and was responsible for all financial functions as well as day-to-day operations of the firm. In November 2006, he was promoted to Vice President, Finance and Operations and is currently responsible for the firm’s financial plans and accounting practices, as well as the operations of the corporate and fund accounting departments.
Brad articled with KPMG LLP (Vancouver) and provided audit and business advisory services to clients in the Financial Institutions and Real Estate Sectors. His experience at KPMG primarily focused on performing audits of various financial institutions such as investment dealers, asset managers and investment funds. Brad obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2003.
Brad Chapman joined Leith Wheeler as the Manager of Legal/Compliance in March 2013. He graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics, and then went on to graduate from the combined LLB/MBA program at Western University. Brad is an accomplished corporate commercial lawyer, with past experience in strategic consulting. Prior to joining Leith Wheeler, Brad was Senior Counsel for the asset management and then procurement arms of a major international bank. He works with our Chief Compliance Officer in developing, implementing and overseeing firm policies, processes and procedures. Brad also provides valuable in-house legal guidance and strategic planning assistance to Leith Wheeler's various business units.
Salima joined Leith Wheeler in September of 2015 after eleven years working for the D. E. Shaw Group in London and New York, where she was most recently the COO of Global Private Investing. Salima previously held leadership roles in D. E. Shaw’s Risk Management and Treasury groups, and spearheaded a variety of company-wide initiatives. She is a graduate of Yale University and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. At Leith Wheeler, Salima will implement key initiatives by driving organizational change, streamlining operational processes, and assisting with new product development. She will also facilitate firm-wide strategic planning.
Benson joined Leith Wheeler in 2008 as a member of the Trade Operations team and transitioned to the Compliance team. Prior to joining Leith Wheeler, Benson worked at a large Canadian financial institution in a client facing role. He is currently responsible for day to day compliance operations. Benson graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Economics degree and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
