Associate, Private Clients and Foundations

Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel Ltd. is an independent, employee-owned, Vancouver-based investment counsel managing approximately $21 billion in assets on behalf of institutional and individual clients across Canada. Accordingly, we are looking for an Associate to work with our Private Client & Foundations team in Vancouver.

Job Description:

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career, seeking a position in the investment industry that provides opportunities for professional growth. The role will appeal to someone who has a passion for client service and is excited about working in a dynamic, team-based environment. The role will initially be offered on a one-year contract basis, but our hope is to engage someone with the potential to become a future equity partner in our company.

Position duties: 

  • Supporting the team of Portfolio Managers in servicing client relationships
  • Assisting with monthly and quarterly report generation
    • Verifying and analyzing performance results
    • Tailoring reports to meet client needs
  • Responding to information requests from Portfolio Managers, clients, consultants, and other service providers
  • Preparing presentation material for clients
  • Completing prospective client proposals (RFPs)
  • Continually working to improve existing processes and procedures
  • Liaising with Leith Wheeler counterparts in our Calgary and Toronto offices
  • Assisting with various projects around the firm

Job Qualifications:

 Candidate Credentials

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or similar
  • Enrollment in the CFA program an asset
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Advent, and Salesforce software preferred
  • Ability to be licensed as an MFDA representative an asset
