Back Office Custodial Administrator

Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel Ltd. is an independent, employee-owned, Vancouver-based investment counsel managing over $20 billion in assets on behalf of pension, foundation, Indigenous, corporate and individual clients across Canada.

Job Description:

This position will appeal to someone with experience in the financial services industry, preferably within an investment management setting, who is passionate about client service, zealous in their pursuit of operational efficiency, and comfortable working in a team-based environment.

Duties will include:

  • Daily posting of portfolio transactions (cash withdrawals, deposits, US dividends, fees);
  • Maintaining accurate and proper reconciliations for custodian accounts daily/monthly/quarterly;
  • Client reporting as required (monthly reconciliations);
  • Ad hoc reporting of account detail to PMs;
  • Assisting other administrators as required;
  • Backup daily Money Market forecast;
  • Maintaining organized records and filing, as required;
  • Interest and dividend posting;
  • Assist with trading settlements, as required;
  • Other ad hoc administrative duties, as required.

Job Qualifications:

The candidate should be professional and responsible with a well-rounded knowledge of the securities/investment management industry and able to work independently. He or she should also have intermediate to advanced computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. The candidate must have a proactive approach to problem solving and must be detail-oriented, organized and have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working under pressure, with a hardworking and positive attitude. The candidate should be able to work with employees and clients at all levels and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Canadian Securities Course and The Conduct & Practice handbook are an asset.
