Research Intern – Equities & Fixed Income Rotation

Established in 1982, Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel Ltd. is an independent, employee-owned, Vancouver-based investment counsel managing over $30 billion of assets on behalf of pension, foundation, corporate and individual clients across Canada. We employ a fundamental, value-oriented investment philosophy.

We are seeking two inspired, entrepreneurial, independent-thinking team members interested in a summer internship between their 3rd and 4th year of study. You will have the opportunity to build a greater understanding of capital markets and the investment management process by rotating through two groups within Leith Wheeler: Equities and Fixed income. In addition, you will also gain exposure to corporate management teams and sell-side brokers and analysts.

Position Type: Full-time paid Summer Internship from May-Aug 2026.

Salary: Competitive compensation commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity.

Job Description:

  • Fundamental investment analysis (Canadian Equities, US Equities, High Yield and Fixed Income)
  • Creating and maintaining detailed financial models and industry databases
  • Preparing internal research reports
  • Building and contributing to client reports and presentations
  • Preparing for and attending corporate management meetings

Job Qualifications:

  • Passion for value-investing and the capital markets
  • Solid financial modeling and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
