Bio
Mike joined Leith Wheeler in 2017. He leads our Marketing & Communications team, which manages the firm's thought leadership, social media, sponsorships, media relations, and digital initiatives. After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Finance from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Mike started his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch in Calgary and London, UK. He later then spent 10 years with Phillips, Hager & North (now RBC GAM) as an equity analyst and institutional portfolio manager before earning a Master of Journalism from UBC, and going on to produce television news for CBC.
Mike is a member of the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Foundation and sits on its Investment and Nominations Committees. He also serves as a member of the Vancouver Civic Theatres board. Mike is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charterholder and is a Past President of CFA Society Vancouver (2021). He also hosts CFA Institute's flagship global investment podcast, Enterprising Investor, where he interviews leading minds from around the world on current issues and opportunities in our industry.
